About
Home Assistant is the biggest open-source smart home platform, built by the community and belonging to them. It runs locally, on hardware you own, with privacy and choice built in. The companion app is how you carry it with you: every device, automation and dashboard, on the phone, the watch and the Mac.
It sends your location and phone sensors to your own server for automations, shows your dashboards as they are, and puts the actions you use most on widgets, in Shortcuts and on the Watch face. Notifications come from your home, not from a cloud.
I work on this app full time at the Open Home Foundation, the non-profit that stewards Home Assistant.
